[ Houston, Texas ]
Hey everyone. I’ve been out of the loop for a while–taking care of my own routine medical and dental care in New Delhi, traveling back to the United States for an extended visit, and trying to restore my temporarily deceased computer. Being back in the US is hard in many ways, but I’ve been a busy bee and things have been going well. More on that in another post.
For now, let’s talk about Aamaa. She remains in Kathmandu, staying in a small apartment near the hospital. Her recovery is going slowly, but for a 78-year old with two broken hips that’s to be expected. She asked me to pass on my thanks to everyone who has helped with the family’s medical bills thus far, so…thanks.
Where are we with the fundraising? As of this minute, we have raised ~$3500USD after PayPal’s processing fees, and I have transferred the first $3K to Pramod. This is great news, but we still need at least $2K – $3K to save the family farm.
For those who haven’t done so, please consider a donation of any size. It helps, I promise. Any size. Really. There’s no need to go digging around for the information–here’s the PayPal button for the Ganesh Kumari Shrestha Medical Fund, once again:
If you haven’t done so, please help Aamaa out by sharing the original fundraising post. If you’ve already done so, it’s been a while, please remind your friends by sharing one more time. Every little bit helps.
Anyone who has ideas about other ways I can get the word out, please let me know.
And THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU to all Transglobalistas, everywhere, for your continued generosity and kindness.
Hugs & Kisses,
—moi
