Queridxs Quiteñxs!
Thank you for hosting such a wonderful and welcoming Pride Parade this year. Also thanks for letting me join in and take some pictures. You are beautiful!
And for all you furners (that’s how ‘Murikins say “foreigners”–I swear), here’s the 411:
These photos are from this past Saturday night. I had intended to attend the parade, camera in hand, but had marked the wrong date on my calendar. So…I was out for a later-than-usual bike ride when I encountered THOUSANDS of folks gathering along my usual route. I figured I’d just grab a few distant photos on my way back home when I ran into my vanlife friends Lorenzo and Katie. (They are members of the San Cristobal Saints, if you remember that post from last October.) Thanks to them, I aborted my ride and we joined in the festivities. I was able to take photos up close and personal because they kindly took charge of my bicycle.
At the end of it all we sat in El Ejido park and had a couple of cold beers while the parade wound down around us. All in all a GREAT (and unexpected) evening.
THANKS KATIE! THANKS LORENZO!
And to one and all:
Take care of yourselves, and each other,
—jim
