[ Nouakchott, Mauritania]
The second day out of Choum was short but very sweet. A day of interactions and discovery, starting with finding a communal well to refill my quickly vanishing water supply. There was another short pass to climb, an unexpected two-hour stay for tea and lunch in a small village, and lots of wonderful people who helped me get situated in Atar.
Atar itself is the regional hub for what little tourism there is in the Mauritanian interior, and I wandered around until near sunset.
As usual, it’s the people that make the journey worthwhile, and this was a great day
