[ Tanant, Morocco ]
I guess it’s official: I’m on the road, I more or less have my sea-legs under me, and am getting used to life on the bike. Morocco really is one of the most amazing places to be on two wheels. The people, the hospitality, the terrain, and even the quality of the roads.
All fantastic.
The one thing that’s been hard to do is…hide. By which I mean find a stealth campsite so you get some peace and quiet at night and don’t have to deal with multiple-agencies of local constabulary and political oversight. The areas I am in are all utterly devoid of tourists, so they don’t even quite know WHAT they’re supposed to do with you, only that they’re supposed to do it. Showered with bureaucratic kindness, but not with seclusion.
Starting tomorrow I will be making the final approach to the crazy off-road crossing I mentioned in an earlier post. I am gonna buy a blanket to take along, though, it’s cold up here!
Hope all of you folks are warm and happy wherever you are.
Salaam,
